How Does the Beautyrest Harmony Lux Feel?
When you lie down on the mattress, the first thing you’ll notice is the plushness of the pillow top. The bed contains some memory foam, so there is some nice contouring and sinkage, but it is still an innerspring mattress. This makes it feel responsive while still delivering cushioning for joints.

Pressure relief is important because it can help alleviate tension in the muscles and joints when you lie down to sleep.
The Beautyrest Harmony Lux Carbon, with the added pillow top, provides excellent pressure relief overall, without feeling ‘stuck’ in the mattress, which can happen with some memory foam mattresses. Instead, it has a quicker response to pressure, so you should be able to move around and get off the bed easily.
Is the Beautyrest Harmony Lux Good for Pain Relief?
Yes, in general, we think this bed has a lot going for it in terms of potential pain relief. That said, just make sure if you get this particular model we tested, that it suits your body type and sleep position well. Otherwise, you can opt for a different firmness and design that more closely meets your needs for pain relief.

The Harmony Lux Carbon has an advanced support system made up of T2 pocketed coils. T2 is Beautyrest’s exclusive coil design, which involves individually wrapping the coils in fabric and then surrounding them in high-density foam. This combination makes this mattress incredibly supportive for most bodies and positions.
It’s also easy to customize the Harmony Lux to meet your individual support needs. You can choose between Plush, Medium, or Extra Firm, and you can choose to add the pillow top or not. We found the Medium with the pillow top to be supportive while still comfortable, though very heavy people might need something firmer, which is why we took off a point here.
Motion Isolation

If you’re a sensitive sleeper and you share a bed, you’ll need a mattress that has very little motion transfer. Luckily, the Harmony Lux has excellent motion isolation, meaning you should feel minimal movement when someone else is moving on the other side of the bed.
Oftentimes, innerspring mattresses are bouncy and responsive but don’t isolate motion well. However, this mattress has better-than-expected motion control because of its unique construction – the T2 coils that are surrounded by foam. However, those coils might still disturb some very light seepers, so we removed a half-point here.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling

The Beautyrest Harmony Lux mattress was designed with cooling in mind. It starts with the cover, which includes Beautyrest’s proprietary InfiniCool Lux technology. Beneath that, the pillow-top layer contains RightTemp Wave foam, a soft foam made with conductive carbon fibers to increase the mattress’s breathability. Underneath that layer are the pocketed coils, which allow air to pass through the mattress.
Based on its multiple cooling features, we think this mattress is a solid choice for those who sleep hot. The only reason we didn’t give it a 5 here is that some extra-hot sleepers might get even more temperature regulation from a latex hybrid, and the foams may still retain a little warmth.

Some bounce is good to have, as it helps you switch positions and move around the mattress. This makes it ideal for combination sleepers, sexually active couples, and people with mobility issues.
We gave this Beautyrest mattress a 4 out of 5 in this category because it has a good amount of bounce. However, we deducted a point here because the foams in this bed are likely to still absorb some of that buoyancy.

Construction: What’s Inside the Beautyrest Harmony Lux Carbon?
The Harmony Lux Carbon mattress from Beautyrest is an innerspring mattress with a soft foam top layer. Without the additional pillow top, the mattress measures 13.5 inches tall, but with the pillow top, it measures 15.75 inches tall.
We looked at the Harmony Lux Carbon with the pillow top, and below, we’ll go over each layer of this mattress.
- The cover of the mattress features Seaqual™, an eco-friendly fabric that is made from recycled plastic waste found in the ocean. The cover is also quilted to soft InfiniCool™ Lux foam, making the surface of the Harmong Lux Carbon incredibly soft, cushioning, and cooling.
- Going deeper, the pillow top comfort layer is made from a combination of foams. The first layer of the pillow top is the super soft RightTemp™ Wave Foam. It is pressure-relieving as well as cooling. Below that is a layer of gel memory foam, which contours nicely to the body, and below that, one more layer of medium comfort foam.
- Then, there is the support layer. The Harmony Lux’s support layer is made of pocketed coil technology exclusive to Beautyrest. Called “T2 pocketed coils,” they are individually wrapped in fabric for better motion isolation and then surrounded by high-density poly foam around the edges of the bed. This allows for great edge support.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
Unlike many beds you can order online, this one is not delivered in a box, so there is no unboxing or off-gassing period. Instead, the Beautyrest Harmony Lux Carbon comes with free white glove delivery. This means that with the cost of this mattress, you can arrange for it to be delivered and set up, and for your old mattress and any packaging to be removed. You can then dress the bed immediately.
