If it’s what you’re looking for, you’ve found it. Our testers could barely feel any movement with another person got in and and out of the bed, and when we used a seismograph app to measure this, it backed up our testers’ personal experience.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling

Cooling is helpful for kids who sleep hot, especially if you live in a warm climate. However, not all mattresses are meant for hot sleepers. This Brooklyn Bedding model has an open-cell design in its cooling foam, allowing the air to circulate more to help prevent heat retention. This seems to do the trick considering the temperature only went up 5 degrees after five minutes of lying on the bed. We deducted half a point, however, since there weren’t other, more advanced cooling features within the mattress.
Bounce

Bounce can help people get in and out of bed and switch positions. Plus, many kids enjoy this feature. We test this by dropping a weighted ball on the bed and seeing just how much it bounces, as well as how easily we can move around on the mattress.
In the case of this Brooklyn Bedding mattress, there was not much bounce. When we dropped the ball on it, it just made a big thud. However, the mattress is still easy to move around on, which means switching positions shouldn’t be a problem. Considering there’s not a lot of buoyancy, but changing position is still fine, we gave it an average score of 3 out of 5 here.

Brooklyn Bedding’s trial and warranty policies also meet the industry standard, which we like to see. However, we took off a point because this mattress isn’t flippable, and that’s a unique feature we’ve seen in other kids mattresses we’ve reviewed. Construction: What’s Inside the Brooklyn Bedding BB Kids Mattress?
This mattress is 6 inches tall, which might seem very thin, but it should be enough for kids. It comes in three sizes, depending on the age of your child. The construction starts off with the Nano Stain Terminator Cover, which is eco-friendly and meant to stop spills and accidents from staining the mattress.
- The comfort layer is made from a 2-inch gel swirl memory foam that gives this mattress that bit of responsiveness for easier repositioning. It also offers some temperature regulation to help prevent the surface from getting too warm.
- The support layer is a 4-inch thick firm foam that is highly dense, so it shouldn’t develop any dents, even after a while.

Our Verdict of the Brooklyn Bedding BB Kids Mattress
We think this could be a good mattress to get for your child, especially since it comes in three sizes, so they can use it for a while if you get a larger size. It provides excellent support, which is one of the most important things, as it ensures proper alignment for your kid’s growing body. We also found it did well at cooling and motion isolation, which can be helpful for those times when your child shares a bed with a pet or sibling.
On the flip side, this mattress doesn’t do that well with pressure relief, so we wouldn’t recommend it to kids who are regular side sleepers. Overall, the Brooklyn Bedding Kids Mattress earned a 4 out of 5.
