Roughly 137,000 Lucid Platform Beds Recalled Over Safety Concerns

CVB Inc., a Utah-based importer, is recalling about 137,000 Lucid-brand platform beds. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves Lucid’s platform beds with upholstered square tufted headboards in the following sizes:

  • Twin
  • Full 
  • Queen
  • King
  • California King

In the recall report, the beds are able to “sag, break, or collapse” while in use, and this could create a risk of falling or injury. These beds have been sold in the United States and Canada between September 2019 and April 2024 through the following retailers:

  • Amazon.com
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Belk.com
  • Brookside
  • eBay
  • Home Depot
  • JC Penney
  • Lowes.com
  • Lucid
  • Macy’s
  • Menards
  • Overstock
  • QVC
  • Sears.com
  • Target.com
  • Malouf VIP
  • Wayfair
  • Walmart

The recall was issued on September 19, and there have been 245 reports of these platform bed frames breaking, sagging, or collapsing. Among those 245 reports, there were 18 injuries, which included bruising.

Anyone who has one of these bed frames should stop using it immediately. 

You can reach out to reach out to Lucid for a free replacement product. According to Lucid, you will need to write the word “recalled” on the bed’s wooden slats. Then, take a photo of the slats with “recalled” written on them and a photo of the law label and send that to recall@lucidmattress.com, or you can fill out the recall form on their website.
