Who I Recommend the Nectar Premier Hybrid For:
- Hot sleepers – Sweaty, sleepless nights? Not on this bed’s watch! The Nectar Premier Hybrid’s cooling performance should put your mind at ease if you’re worried about overheating.
- Couples – I think this bed has a lot to offer couples, especially when it comes to cooling, motion isolation, and edge support. Sexually active couples might like a little more bounce, but overall, this bed is a solid choice for couples.
- Back sleepers – I enjoyed this bed on my back the most compared to stomach and side sleeping. I would definitely recommend it to regular back sleepers.

I used these tests to help score this Nectar bed in each performance category, which helped me assess who I think should (and shouldn’t) get this mattress. I also evaluated this bed in each sleeping position, seeing how well it kept me supported and relieved pressure points.

I rated the Nectar Premier Hybrid a 6 out of 10 for firmness, which means this bed has a medium-firm feel. You’ll find that many mattresses we review are in the medium-firm range since this typically accommodates most people.
How Does the Nectar Premier Hybrid Feel?
This mattress is pretty soft at first with some deep contouring thanks to the thick memory foam below the cover. However, the support layers are hit-and-miss depending on the sleep position. I noticed it was most supportive while on my back.

Pressure Relief

A mattress with good pressure relief can help prevent you from waking up with achy joints and is especially helpful for back and side sleepers. To test this, I placed a pressure map on top of the Nectar Premier Hybrid. This ‘map’ picks up where there’s pressure. Blue and green mean there’s little to no pressure, and red and yellow mean there’s some pressure buildup.
The pressure relief for this mattress is great overall. There’s some yellow in my shoulder for side sleeping, but it’s minimal. For back sleeping, it’s just blue and green. These results helped the Nectar Premier Hybrid earn a perfect 5 out of 5.

Is the Nectar Premier Hybrid Good for Pain Relief?
The Nectar Premier Hybrid’s combo of coils, foam, and a medium-firm feel can be helpful for pain, but I think this is also contingent upon your sleeping position and type of pain.

The Nectar Premier Hybrid’s support system starts with a layer of Dynamic Response foam, followed by the coil unit. At the base, you also have a unit of foam for additional support and stability.
To see how these materials perform, I evaluated how lifted I felt in each sleeping position. Back sleeping was the winner here for support. I especially love how the foam filled in around my lower back. Side sleeping felt okay but definitely not ‘perfect’. I felt the least supported on my stomach; there was too much of a dip in my hips and lower back.
I gave the Premier Hybrid a 4 out of 5 because only one position saw significant sagging. I also factored in the bed’s medium-firm feel, thicker support system, and 13-inch profile toward my support score.
Motion Isolation

If you’re someone who wakes up every time your partner gets in and out of bed or moves around, then good motion isolation should be a part of your mattress selection process. The term ‘motion isolation’ means the bed is able to contain movement to its origin point.
I tested this feature by using a seismograph app, which picks up motion disturbances. I lay on one side of the bed, and my colleague, Corey, got onto the bed gently and also bounced up and down in a seated position. We experienced very little motion transfer, which you can see in our seismograph reading. This means those foams and individually wrapped coils were definitely doing their job! These results earned the Nectar Premier Hybrid a 5 out of 5.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling

Trying to sleep on a bed that’s too warm can feel like an uphill battle, which is why a great cooling mattress is so helpful. While seeing how the mattress actually feels is important, I also tested some real data on the Nectar Premier Hybrid’s cooling capabilities.
I used a heat gun to take an initial temperature reading of the mattress, which was 66.7 degrees Fahrenheit. I then lay on the bed for five minutes, and the temperature went up to 74.4 degrees. Lastly, I lay on the mattress for an additional five minutes, and the final reading was 75.5 degrees.
I didn’t give the Premier Hybrid a 5 here because the temperature went up more than 5 degrees after the first five minutes of lying on it. However, I only took off a half-point because it felt cool to the touch and wasn’t noticeably hot to me while I was lying on it.
Bounce

Many folks simply like the feel of a bouncy bed, but it’s also useful because a quicker bounce-back can aid in repositioning, which is helpful for people with limited mobility, combo sleepers, and sexually active couples.
I put this to the test by dropping a 10-pound medicine ball on the mattress and jumping on the bed. There was only a little bounce when I jumped on the Nectar Premier Hybrid, and the medicine ball dropped with a thud. In this case, the coils weren’t enough for a thicker layer of memory foam, which is why this bed only got a 3 out of 5 here.
Edge Support

Edge support is helpful for co-sleepers because they can comfortably spread out to the sides of the bed without feeling like they’re going to roll off. Also, many people like to sit on the edge of the bed when they get ready for the day, and sturdy sides can keep them from slipping.
I tested this two ways: first by lying on the side for a minute followed by sitting on the side for a minute tying my shoes. While I was seated, there was a little sinkage, but I felt secure when bending over. I felt very secure lying along the side of the bed; no issues whatsoever.
One thing to note is that the cover is a little slick, so I did notice some sliding, but this should be remedied with a sheet. I deducted only a half-point for the slight sinkage and slick cover, but again, it’s a minimal concern for most folks.
Accessibility

Our accessibility rating covers any way(s) the mattress goes above and beyond for customers. As a brand, Nectar excels with their year-long sleep trial, Forever warranty, and free returns. That said, they do charge extra for in-home delivery ($199).
Even though the Premier is considered an upgrade from the Nectar Hybrid, they’re not that far off in certain performance categories. I would say the Premier outshines the Classic in terms of pressure relief, but the Classic actually fares better at support for stomach sleeping. However, neither is great at bounce despite having coils in them. I gave the Premier Hybrid a 4 out of 5 because it delivers better pressure relief than its standard counterpart.

Nectar has excellent customer policies. Plus, you can easily get in touch with the company via online chat, email, or phone. I also appreciate that they have an online mattress quiz to help folks find their ideal bed. I gave the Nectar Premier Hybrid a 4 score in this category because the online system is sometimes hit-and-miss with how helpful it is, even though it’s convenient.
Performance for Couples

We consider a mattress good for couples based on how it performs in overall support, motion isolation, cooling, bounce, and edge support. We also consider its firmness rating and weight capacity.
The Nectar Premier Hybrid got high marks in most categories, with the exception of bounce, where it only received an average rating. However, it does have a versatile medium-firm feel and the queen size, which many couples opt for, can support up to 1,000 pounds. I took off a point because of the bounce score, which can be a drawback for sexually active couples, but I think it’s still a strong contender for many partners.

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is rolled and packaged in a box. This allows easy shipping, but it also makes it easier to move the mattress from your doorstep to the bedroom. Nectar suggests you unroll the mattress on your foundation of choice but wait at least 24 hours before using it.
Industry-Leading Warranty and Trial
A lengthy trial is always a good thing, but more so when you get a full year to test out a mattress. Nectar goes above and beyond to ensure you’re happy with your new bed, so they offer a year-long trial for you to test it left and right. On top of that, they offer a lifetime warranty, and in my opinion, it doesn’t get better than that.
Adjustable Base Compatible
This mattress works with many bed foundations and base options, so you might even be able to use the base you have right now. If you want an ultimate upgrade with an adjustable frame, you’ll be happy to know the Premier Hybrid is a good mattress to pair with such an innovative foundation.
Construction: What’s Inside the Nectar Premier Hybrid?
The Nectar Premier Hybrid is 13 inches taller. The main difference between this and the Classic Hybrid is that the Premier has a thicker layer of memory foam below the cover.
- The cover of the Nectar Premier Hybrid is a moisture-wicking fabric aimed at keeping the bed’s surface cool and dry while also working to eliminate bacteria.
- A layer of Therapeutic Memory Foam sits below the cover. This material is 2 inches thick and is meant to deliver enhanced pressure relief.
- The Responsive Support Layer is a 2-inch thick foam unit that helps with overall body support.
- The coil unit comes next. This is the bed’s primary support layer. Standing 8 inches tall, these coils are individually wrapped to limit motion transfer, and the brand added thicker coils along the sides to boost edge support. Plus, they provide extra airflow for cooling.
- The foundation layer is an additional piece of foam below the coils to help with support and stability.
- The Shift-Resistant Lower Cover is at the very bottom and helps keep all the layers above it in place.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
Like all Nectar mattresses, the Premier Hybrid comes compressed, rolled, and packaged in a box. This is meant to make the mattress more manageable when it arrives at your doorstep. I recommend placing the rolled-up mattress on your bed foundation before opening and unwrapping the plastic. Once you open it, the mattress will start decompressing, and it should continue to do so for the following 24 hours.
You may also notice off-gassing smells when you first unpack this hybrid. This is common for beds containing memory foam, especially when they’re shipped in a box. However, the smell should dissipate by the time the mattress fully decompresses.

My Verdict of the Nectar Premier Hybrid
So is this upgrade all it’s cracked up to be? Yes, and no. The Premier Hybrid’s thicker memory foam layer definitely gives it a leg up against the Classic Hybrid in terms of pressure relief, but the Classic does have better support for stomach sleeping. However, I did enjoy this one for back sleeping, and side sleeping wasn’t too bad either.
I also think this is a good choice for couples, though sexually active partners might prefer something more bouncy. However, you can make the most of the company’s year-long trial to see how you like it. Overall, this bed earned a 4.2 out of 5.
